This site provides information about the record company sleeves used for New Zealand pressed and distributed 7" vinyl 45s. There are some gaps and possible mistakes. If you can add a correct date or sleeve please add a comment or email us. The images of the centre labels are meant to be a guide. Some record companies produced multiple variations of their labels. Too many to show here. This site is dedicated to record sleeves.

Philips: 1970-72

In June 1970, Philips Records (NZ) Limited rebranded to PolyGram Records Limited. This would be the distributor for Philips singles for a year, until another rebranding in late 1972 to Phonogram Ltd. Philips singles were released at this time may been issued under the red Philips sleeve for the years 1970 to 1972, or the red Philips sleeve from 1970-71, and then the PolyGram 'The Music Company' sleeve for 1971-72.

Red Philips sleeve, used between 1970 and 1972.
Singles released by Philips during these years used this sleeve, but may have also used the PolyGram 'The Music Company' sleeve after it was issued and in use between 1971 and 1972.

Possibly the Philips sleeve for the years 1971 and 1972.
Philips Records (NZ) Ltd. was rebranded as PolyGram Records Limited in mid-1970, but may have continued issuing its singles with the red Philips sleeve previously pictured. Whether Philips singles would've used the red Philips sleeve until 1971 and began using this PolyGram sleeve is difficult to determine.
