Pye

In the mid 1950's G. A. Wooller & Co Ltd obtained local rights to the newly formed British label Ply Records. G. A. Wooller & Co Ltd setup Pye (NZ) Ltd. From 1957 until 1960 the Pye label only released EPs. Single were released on the Pye Nixa label.

Pye: 1960-62

Pye (NZ) Ltd started issuing singles on the Pye label in 1960. They were issued in the above company sleeve.

Pye: 1962-72

In 1962 the red Pye sleeve was introduced.

In 1969 the Pye Record Manufacturing Division was opened in Paeroa the sleeve was changed.

Pye 1977-80

From 1977 Pye records were owned and distributed by Polygram Records Ltd. All Pye singles were released using the generic Polygram company sleeve.


Sleeve & Label 1977 -80

Pye Records stopped issuing singles in 1980.
