This site provides information about the record company sleeves used for New Zealand pressed and distributed 7" vinyl 45s. There are some gaps and possible mistakes. If you can add a correct date or sleeve please add a comment or email us. The images of the centre labels are meant to be a guide. Some record companies produced multiple variations of their labels. Too many to show here. This site is dedicated to record sleeves.

His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd was rebranded EMI (NZ) Ltd in 1972.

From 1972 to 1976 singles were issued in the standard red company sleeve.

Purple Sleeve

His Master Voice (NZ) Ltd's record pressing division was called EMI Manufacturing Ltd. It pressed records for H.M.V as well as it's subsidiary labels. Singles from the subsidiary label, when not issued in unique sleeves, seemed to have been issued in EMI's purple sleeve from around 1970 on. I am unsure what year these sleeve stopped being issued. If you can shed light on this please leave a comment or email me.

  1. I feel the yellow EMI sleeve was introduced earlier than 1986.
