Before 1965 Motown artists were released in New Zealand on Stateside Records, which was a subsidiary label of His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd.
Tamla Motown: 1965-76
In 1965 the Tamla Motown label was established in New Zealand. When H.M.V. was re-branded as EMI in 1972 EMI continued distributing Tamla Motown in New Zealand.
I am unsure when the below sleeve was first introduced and what sleeve was used before this. If you can shed some light on this please leave a comment or send me an email. The earliest version I have dates back to 1967 until around 1969. It is possible that a Tamla Motown sleeve with the BOAC Mini-Fares ad on its back exists, but I don't have a copy of this sleeve.
